I am a big action / destruction / racing game fan.  I found out about Split Second last year,and got very psyched.  This is almost a cross between a good race game, and a good crash game.  I can’t wait to get my hands on this game.  Wife wants to get a few free insurance quotes before I get it because she doesn’t like my driving much, but deals with it.  After getting my hands on this game she feels I may try to enact some of the gameplay.

Disney Interactive Studios announced that Split/Second, the action racing game from Black Rock Studio, will be released in North America on Tuesday, May 18.  The European release date is May 21.  Set within the world of a fictional reality TV show, Split/Second players don’t just try to race to the finish line, but they trigger explosive events that alter the track to take out opponents or create short cuts.

Split/Second is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older.  The game will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.  Winner of the prestigious Game Critics Award as Best Racing Game of E3, Split/Second has a MSRP of $59.99 for Xbox 360 / PS3, and $49.99 for Windows PC.
