High up in his penthouse office, a mysterious lunatic holds the infamous Twisted Metal tournament every year. Who is he? Calypso. And his thirst for chaos and destruction can only be quenched with death.

Contestants for Calypso’s Twisted Metal tournament are selected from all over the world to compete for the ultimate prize: Survival. Behind the wheel of the most twisted vehicles imaginable, contestants battle to the death until one, lone victor remains standing. The champion gets one wish granted by Calypso.

But there’s a twist.

This year, instead of offering the champion money, power or fame, rumor has it that Calypso is able to offer more…so much more. However, as contestants step up to prove themselves worthy of the Twisted Metal championship, a mysterious figure is tracking Calypso and preparing to strike back — someone who knows the truth behind where and how Calypso is getting his amazing prizes.

Drivers go out and get yourselves a helmet and strap yourself in for the best car action that you have played in years.

My wife bought me one of the NEW Sony Playstation 3 wireless headsets for Christmas this year. I like the new headset, but I also miss my old Playstation 2 wired headset. It was nice because it was small, and didn’t have many controls. If it wasn’t for the fact that my old headset stopped working because of something to the effect of the condenser microphones wearing out. The new headset has a mic mute, voice volume, and sound volume. The new headset is not Bluetooth. These are much nicer than a standard Bluetooth earpiece because no one else has to hear what is going on in the game.

The headset retails for @$99.99. It comes with a usb adapter that allows the headset to communicate with the PS3. There is a full onscreen visualization of what is what with the headset when being used.

I recommend this headset for the full gaming experience.

Being a video gamer I am always looking for ways to make things a bit more comfortable. Recently I was given the opportunity to test out the XTendPlay Ergonomic Adapter. If you are a gamer then you know that a controller needs to work with you without major adjustments. When I play FPS games I need my fingers to be in full synchronicity. When I play casual board games, or slow paced games I can afford to be more flexible. The XTendPlay Adapter worked for the casual games for me. I tried playing Battlefield 3 for a few rounds with the adapter, and it seemed uncomfortable because of the squareness.

While I am not saying that this product is not well made I am stating that the product is best suited for those that play in a loose style, and are willing to make change. The product is well made. I will still use this for my family, and casual games. Maybe in time I will grow to like it more for my FPS games. The adapter fits all Playstation 3 controllers, and there is also an XBox version. The adapter is made of a soft-touch, ultra-lightweight fleXlite™ foam.

Check out Gamingzap.com for their products.

XTendPlay Adapter Specifications

- Unique soft-touch ergonomic styling keeps hands and fingers relaxed during gameplay
- Airflow Channels ventilate the surrounding air to keep your hands cool and dry
- Fills empty space between body and controller, promoting comfort and stability
- Innovative design improves accuracy, precision and control
- Compatible with Sony Wireless Keypad allowiing uninterrupted console operations
- Compatible with allSony DualShock and Sixaxis controllers

I have had my Playstation 3 since just a few months after it was released. I have seen an ever increasing amount of things that are coming out for the Playstation 3. One of the things that I think that they should improve on is the printer / printing capabilities that are in the unit. Currently Epson printers are one of the main printers that will work on the PS3. I know that there is no real replacement for a home computer, but Sony could be onto something if they made the PS3 handle more printers, and maybe even scanning so you can send things to your friends. I can only see an issue with scanning software.

What do you think about upgrading the printer capabilities of the PS3?

In my house I have a Cockatoo that likes to chew almost anything that it can get its beak on. Well I came home one day to find out that the bird had gotten to my Playstation 3 controller somehow. After hunting the internet I found replacement sticks so that the controller would work again. Once I had gotten them, and replaced them I found out that the battery in the controller wouldn’t charge. I dug around the house to find some of the rc batteries that I purchased months ago. I had custom made battery packs for soem rc cars. I found out that they were a bit big so they couldn’t be used.

After taking the controller apart to verify the specifications of the battery in the controller I located a replacement. Now it is ordered. The part that I dread is the actual replacement because changing the sticks was a bit of a chore. They don’t make these controllers repair friendly. I would only venture to guess that they would rather have people purchase new ones rather than fix them.

If you are not technologically gifted, then please take my advice… Don’t try these types of repairs on your own.

I own both of the Unchartered video games for the PlayStation 3. These are a little out of my normal gaming style, but the graphics drew me in. Being that they are action/adventure games I am not against them. They have had gunplay, and some parts that require thought.

I am very curious as to what will be the actual quest in Unchartered 3. In Unchartered 2 Drake had a very exciting quest, but probably only got to take back some Shamballa bead bracelets in the end.

Naughty Dog has not failed me with this series of games. The graphics have been stunning, and they even added multiplayer to the Unchartered 2 title.

What lies ahead for us with Unchartered 3???

We all know that during Easter weekend the Playstation Network went dark. Until last weekend noone was able to play their video games with others over the net, watch Netflix, and those with services on their tvs that used Sony servers they were unable to be used. Well, now Sony has gotten their software up to date, and has started restoring services. Thanks to those guys at Sony that have an IT degree we can all get back to the business of gaming. The Playstation Store is still down, but that will probably be back up before we know it. I firmly believe that Sony will still prevail even after this issue. This is because of the biggest “+” over the XBox… Cost for service. Let’s just say Sony is FREE, and XBox isn’t.

Sony was nice enough to state the following would be done as a “Customer Appreciation.”

This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.

All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

Dead Nation

inFAMOUS

LittleBigPlanet

Super Stardust HD

Wipeout HD + Fury

For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

LittleBigPlanet (PSP)

ModNation Racers

Pursuit Force

Killzone Liberation

A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.

30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.

Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.

Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.

To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

At the very beginning of Easter weekend the Sony Playstation Network got shut down. This was due to a hacker gaining access to personal information, and money information. I have been keeping up with the situation since it started, and what they are finding is that Sony was using an old, and outdated version of Apache. This is what I don’t understand. Why would a company not keep up with the software changes?

I personally hope that Sony understands that they will need to take care of the many millions of users that have been unable to play any online games, movies, and more. I will always stand behind a system that is FREE, but at the same token Sony has an obligation to make things right.

I make this recommendation to everyone that I know that gets a PS3… Purchase Playstation Network cards if you are looking to make a purchase in the Playstation Store. A Playstation Network card doesn’t link to your accounts in any manner. There is no way for anyone to manipulate personal banking, or credit cards if there is no such information in your profile.

On a side note Sony has said that the network will be back up and running this week. It is Friday morning, and nothing yet. What gives?

A few years ago we met a family. We turned out to get to be good friends. My friend Keith was never up to speed about the “Newer”, and “Modern” games that were out on the market. He always busted my chops about playing Pong, and Pacman. I proceeded to have him come over and hang out a few times, and showed him what I consider the best gaming system available on the market… Sony PS3. Within a few months he called me up, and had me locate a tv, and a stereo so that he could watch tv in a whole new way. He found a cheap fireplace insert for the fireplace that would sit under the tv. This is something we want to do, but the cost is what stops us. The next thing he told me was that he wanted a PS3. He said that I sold him on the options of a internet browser, video game system, Blu-Ray player, music player, and more. Now we always talk about upcoming games, and what games we will play against each other.

I am a tech that does handle sales quite a bit. I wish all customers were like my buddy Keith.

When you are playing the Playstation Move you need to keep in mind a few important factors…

Keep the room bright, but not too bright. The camera has a problem with a dark room.

Keep the tether on your wrist. A Playstation Move controller in the screen of your expensive tv isn’t an option.

Do not stand up, or raise your arm too far in rooms that have ceiling fans.

Make sure that you stand a reasonable distance from the camera otherwise the camera will not get all of you.

Originally there was only the Epson printers that could print from the Sony PS3 units. Well, recently I ran into another site that stated certain HP inkjet printers could also print from the Sony PS3. I don’t want to spend the money to print from my PS3 because I can just go to a computer for printing capabilities. The other thing is that having a printer where the PS3 unit is in most homes would just clutter the area. If they ever come up with a good screenshot package for the PS3, then maybe then it will be worth. I have had many game kills that I only wish I could have gotten a hard copy of.

Here is the listing of HP printers that are stated to work with the PS3.

I used to jump on Battlefield each and every time that I got a chance to get on my game. Lately I find myself firing up the Playstation Move and playing Sports Champions. I asked my wife to try it out and she won’t touch it now because I previously showed her that I play the game too much. I never thought moving my body while gaming could be so helpful to my weight. What I feel at the end of using the game is that my arms are worn out, and I am working out quite a few muscles that wouldn’t get worked out with most other video games. Not even the best diet pills can make you feel like you actually accomplished something. If you get the Move I suggest you get “The Shoot” because it is fun, and if you liked “Duck Hunt”, then you will love this title.

Do you have the Playstation Move? Has it helped you in any ways?

Here are some tips for you if you have the Move, or are thinking of getting the Move. Make sure you have plenty of room to play the games. Make sure the room you are playing in isn’t too dark, or too bright. Furniture can get in the way so be sure you plan ahead.

My wife has always joked about wanting to do karaoke, but I am too scared to let her do it in public because I can’t bear to see her embarassed. Well, we recently got to review the New DJ Hero 2 from Activision. Now she can try out karaoke without going out in public. We wanted to try this out because it looks like a good family gathering game. My brother has told me many times how good the first DJ Hero was, and now he looks forward to getting his own DJ Hero 2 system because of the changes.

The turntables can be mixed and matched in a few different variations. The turntables connect to the Playstation 3 via wireless adapter while the microphone connects to the usb port.

The turntables are identical to the original game. You can play up to 3 people because of the 2 turntables, and the microphone. There are 100+ different songs that can be played upon. While playing the game you earn points. Throughout the game you unlock various different customizations for your in game character. You are also able to “Freestyle” at various points of the game. This is so far one of the first games that actually talks between gaming XBox 360 and Playstation 3 systems. Basically when you are done with a session you can send the results to your friend on either system and challenge them to beat your score.

For the business minded player you can play the Empire Mode. The only thing that I noticed is that in this mode you can’t actually make money, or anything to make this better than what most games have in Career Mode. There is a Battle Mode that pits 2 players against each other. There is also multiple online multiplayer modes that you can earn different titles, and more.

DJ Hero 2 is available for the Wii, XBox 360, and the Playstation 3.

The game outputs to HD via 720. Broadband connection required for online play.

MSRP is $59.99 game only – $99.99 turntable and game – $149.99 2 turntables, microphone, and game.

Check out the official DJ Hero 2 website located HERE.

**If you purchase the DJ Hero 2 system from Best Buy you get a code for a unlockable character “Deadmau5″, and also a turntable stand.

**While supplies last.

We received the DJ Hero 2 system so as to review the game. Receiving the DJ Hero 2 system had no affect on our review.

When my daughter got the EyePet for her birthday we originally set it up on the upstairs living room tv. Being that we like to watch tv, and the little one wouldn’t get off the tv we decided to move the EyePet to the basement tv. We found out a few things about the EyePet throughout the first few days, and found out an important fact about it once we moved it. I am sure that this stands true for any game that uses the Playstation Move, but only having the EyePet I can only speak about that one. With the amount of movement required for the EyePet game I don’t recommend having acne face creams, or facial masks on because the camera takes your pictures, and also with the movement of the wand you may get the cream all over the wand. The other thing that we found is that the EyePet needs a lot of light. In our basement we had to move a lamp into the room to add a little bit of light, and that isn’t always enough. Using the EyePet at night is impossible as far as I am concerned.
