The demo is out, and you can download it off of the Playstation Network!
First thing that I noticed is that they have moved everyone that was used to the Arica Harbor board over to a snow covered board now. You parachute in when you are on the attacker side. There are different tanks also. One big change that I noticed immediatelly because I am a “SilentKiller” is that when you are part of the defenders you can’t get behind the attackers at the beginning of the game. There is also the highly anticipated addition of helicopters in the demo.
I noticed that almost everyone playing the demo played as if they had never played Battlefield before. They just run out in the middle of gunfire, and get picked off. I hope that they all have some sort of term life in good standings.
The full version is scheduled to release on March 2, 2010. Be sure to get out, and preorder your copy so that you will get some of the Limited Edition perks. For more information on that go check out the Battlefield site. Here is what you can expect if you get the LE.
Improved Vehicle Armor:
An up-armor package is mounted on all vehicle types, decreasing the effect of both explosive and penetrating warheads, significantly improving vehicle survivability.
Vehicle Alternate Fire:
Additional weapon packages are mounted for the driver of all armored vehicles, greatly expanding the range of targets the vehicle can successfully engage and destroy.
Tracer Dart Pistol:
This magnetic dart attaches to any vehicle surface, allowing squad members to track, lock on and fire rockets onto moving targets even beyond line of sight.
M1A1 Submachine Gun:
Reliable but heavy this classic weapon is a powerful force in the hands of any Battlefield veteran.
Vehicle Motion Sensor:
Use this upgraded sensor to locate enemy units in direct proximity to the vehicle.
M1911 Pistol:
Highly customized M1911 are favoured for its dependability and the power of its large .45 caliber round.
